For those of you that don’t know me or are new to my blog heyyy…..my name is Alexandra but everyone calls me Alex, i am 28 years old, a plussize model & blogger, bit of a workaholic & i am totally addicted to clothes shopping!
So i have 2 jobs the first one is working at the one and only Yours Clothing, one of the top plussize clothing stores. I love my job. I love the clothes (& the discount), the fact that there is a range of clothes that cater to my size & also the girls i work with who have become my friends…or so i would like to think lol. My second job is at my local shop Nisa. I have only been there a few weeks but i like it the days go by fast and i pretty much get to see the people i know…everyday!!! The downside to living in a small town where everyone knows each other.
I never used to be that into fashion believe it or not. I used to dress in my nike tracksuit with my hair slicked back and me big gold hoops in! Yes…I was that kinda girl. I currently have 4 storage boxes full of clothes (probably all new with tags), a pile of clothes on top of my chest of drawers that need to be listed on eBay, 2 tidy rails pack full of clothes, a washing bin that is overflowing with even more clothes, a 6 tiered shoe rack packed with boots/shoes/trainer/sandals, 4 jewellery boxes full bracelets/earrings/necklaces, a draw full of designer hairgrips (my Romany side lol) & makeup……way too much makeup!! I mean who needs 20 lipkits, 13 palettes, 6 mascara & god know what else is in my drawers. I obviously do! My name is Alexandra & i am an ADDICT!
(This is the current state of my room! 😂)
I’ve realised lately that I always post about clothing, whether it be on my blog or instagram & stopped writing about myself & the thing i have been up to. So i promise to try and keep you more updated!

Have you seen the trailer to this film yet???
If your answer was NO click here.
The film is about Renee Barrett, an ordinary woman who struggles with feelings of insecurity and inadequacy on a daily basis, wakes up from a fall believing she is the most beautiful and capable woman in the world, despite looking the same she has always looked. With this newfound confidence she is empowered to live her life fearlessly and flawlessly, but what will happen when she realizes her appearance never changed?!
I know it’s not just me who is excited to see this new movie!! I love that they have created a movie that shows how people feel when they hit the shops, go for nights out & just daily living. Ever since I saw the trailer last year I have been waiting for this film to hit the big screen. However the film is not due to be released until the 20th April (USA) & 4th May (UK).
Even though this film has not aired yet it already has mixed reviews from the public. After being premiered on the Ellen show it hit Twitter and lets just say it didn’t go down well!
What’s your opinion? Do you think this movie is Inspirational/Body Positive or not?

<p style=”text-align: center;”>Recently I attended a photoshoot with a gorgeous girl, Layba. She is a photography student at Leyton College who is currently working on a project based around plus size women.

<p style=”text-align: center;”>Two different shoots took place. Layba used acetate paper on a projection screen to reflect words onto my body. One of the papers had words that were all positive and empowering and on the other sheet the words were hurtful and negative . This was done to project the way we feel and how society makes us feel.

<p style=”text-align: center;”>I love how Layba thinks outside the box, she has decided to base her work on plus size women & comes up with all the different looks to shoot. It was an absolute pleasure to work with her and hopefully we’ll do it again something in the near future!!
<p style=”text-align: center;”>Check out her Instagram page for more of her amazing photography: LXSA.W
<p style=”text-align: center;”>Just A Plussize Girl

So I recently found out that PrettyLittleThing.Com have started doing a plus size range!
I love that so many companies…especially online ones have started to sell plus size ranges. Pretty Little Thing’s plus size clothing ranges from sizes 18-24 and their trends are always up to date! I am in love with my two nude sweater dresses I that I bought. I ordered them both in a 22 & 24 and ended up keeping the 24 as they do tend to come up a little bit small, they have balloon sleeves (one is ruched) which i am obsessed with, high neck, very comfortable and a decent length on me considering my height what more can you ask for!
Roll on payday so more items can fly my way.

If you’d have asked me a few years ago if I would enter a plus size pageant I probably would have laughed in your face. Never in a million years did I think that I would have had the confidence to get up on stage in front of hundreds of people and prance around on stage half naked!! Growing up I was the girl who was dressed & covered from head to toe even in the summer, I hated my body and the last thing I wanted to do was to show it for the world to see! Oh how things have changed….I owe that to Miss British Beauty Curve, this was the first ever pageant I entered. Competing in MBBC was the ultimate confidence boost and I would recommend it to everyone.
Wondering how I even found out about pageants? Well I first found out about plus size pageants when I attended an event called Curvy Con, an event where everything plus size is all under one roof (sounds perfect, right!) it was here I met a woman called Charlotte. We started talking, I had seen her in her sash during the day so she told me about the pageant, how I could apply and instantly I was intrigued little did I know this woman was about to change my life.
On the day of the finale I’m not gonna lie I was petrified. I knew nobody when I arrived to the venue apart from Charlotte but you soon enough make friends and it was a good thing that we had rehearsals throughout the day because I froze on stage and one of the reigning queens had to grab my hand and walk with me! The girls there were so supportive they all starting cheering, it made me feel loads better. 3 years later and I have entered Miss British Beauty Curve twice & last year entered new pageant called Miss Voluptuous UK. I still talk the girls from the pageants as well, that’s another plus on entering into pageants. They are my pageant sisters, friends for life and one massive family that support each other when we need it, what more can you ask for!
